Adding Text to A Graphic

Click on the text button . Click the graphic you want to add text to. A box will pop up that look like the image below. You need to pick a font, a size, and a fill color. Don't worry about the stroke. You want the radio button that says "floating" to be selected and "analysis" to be checked as well.

When you've done that, all you need to do is click OK, and your text will be floating on your graphic. Position it where you want it to be, then click the graphic to hold it down. When you're satisfied, right click the image and it will stay where it is. If you want to use an effect on the text, do so BEFORE right clicking the image. Effects are below.

Add Effects to Text

Sculpture

Go to the top of the screen and click on the Effects » Textures » Sculpture. A window will pop up. There are a lot of options, so you can mess around with them until you feel good about how it looks. You can preview your text in the window at the top right. This is how my options are set:

When you've completed that, click OK. Make sure the text looks how you want it to, and then you can right click your graphic to keep your text in place.

Example:

Rounded

Go to the top of the screen and click on the Effects » Artistic » Colored Edges. A window will pop up and you set the settings to:

Pick whichever color you think would match your graphic best.

Example:

Inner Bevel

Go to the top of the screen and click on Effects » 3-D Effects » Inner Bevel. There are a bunch of options that you have to set, and you can try to play around with them until you get the effect you want. I've set my options like this:

As you set your options, look at the upper right box where your text is previewed. This will help you change your options along the way.

Example:

Glowing / Shadow

Go to the top of the screen at Effects » 3D Effects » Drop Shadow. Again, there are several options, and there is no correct way to set them. In my experience, it glows better when set like this:

However, the shadow factor is much better when set like this:

If you want to make it look brighter, press Clt + Y several times and it will brighten up. Sometimes the opacity setting isn't as strong as you'd like it to be.
